Itineraries

Itinerary #1: “Riviera del Brenta”

The Brenta riviera, located between Padua and Venice and bordered by Brenta river, is known throughout the world for its villas, art, culture, gardens, natural landscapes, food and wine, crafts and fashion.
It is a territory whose fame is linked to the civilization of the Venetian villas, and, at the same time, a river itinerary that connects Venice to the rural hinterland today as it did eight centuries ago.

Itinerary #2: “Venice Lido – Pellestrina island”

Pellestrina Island is a magical and authentic place, located in the unknown Venetian lagoon, the real and genuine one where you can meet the real Venetians and be able to feel like locals for a few hours and not just tourists.
Through colorful villages and natural oases, it is possible to cycle around the island in complete tranquility, completely immersing yourself in its peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.
A route suitable for everyone, along tree-lined avenues, the sea, the lagoon, cheerful villages and an uncontaminated landscape.
Definitely one of the most beautiful cycle paths in Italy.

DEPARTURE BY BIKE FROM VENICE LIDO
The basic departure of the tour usually starts from the Lido Island, easily reachable from Venice with the ACTV vaporettos.
Alternatively, you can also leave from Chioggia, in the opposite direction.
The route is suitable for any two-wheeled vehicle, even better if a mountain bike, in order to make the most of the dirt roads present in the Ca’ Roman Reserve.
The cycle path that leads to the islands of Lido and Pellestrina is the E5.
The Lido is a small island in the lagoon, located right in front of Venice and extending for about 12 km.
Once disembarked, continue to the right and in about 6 km you will arrive at the beautiful village of Malamocco, overlooking the lagoon and also crossed by various canals.
The village is truly authentic and the peace that you breathe is absolute.
A magical place for its simplicity.
Recommended stop for a morning break, in one of the few bars in the town, coffee, newspaper and true Venetian air.
From the village of Malamocco, we set off again in the direction of Lido Alberoni, a small town with an adjoining bathing establishment and from which the ferry embarkation for the splendid Pellestrina Island is located.
The ferry that takes us to our destination is number 11 and carries out the service from Alberoni (Lido) to Santa Maria del Mare (Pellestrina).
In this case, it is advisable to consult the timetables of the navigation services directly on the ACTV official website, in order to better organize the day.

ARRIVAL BY BIKE TO PELLESTRINA ISLAND
As soon as you land in Pellestrina you enter another dimension: the atmosphere is peaceful and the landscape wild.
The island is made up of the main towns of San Pietro in Volta, Portosecco and Pellestrina where you can admire the numerous small churches, the typical fishermen’s boats and the cheerful colored houses.
In the village of Pellestrina there are many small restaurants where you can enjoy the excellent lagoon cuisine and a well-deserved lunch break.
After that, the tour can continue towards the uncontaminated LIPU Ca’ Roman natural oasis, located at the southern end of the island, one of the least exploited and most authentic environments in the whole area.
Here there are wild beaches surrounded by dunes and a dense forest, the habitat of many protected species of birds and where it is possible to go birdwatching.
At the end of the dirt path that crosses the wood, you reach the pier and the lighthouse of Ca’ Roman; from here Chioggia can be glimpsed in the distance and from which, weather permitting, the visit can be continued.

THE “MURAZZI” BY BIKE
Unusual and fascinating, before arriving at the Ca’ Roman Village, the crossing of the typical “Murazzi”: an imposing stone work to defend the lagoon from erosion by the sea and from whose upper walkway you can can observe the contrast between the lagoon on one side and the sea on the other.
Not to be missed.
To return to the starting point, the route is reversed to then continue the discovery of the worldly Lido of Venice and its elegant Art Nouveau villas.
To end the day on a high note, you cannot miss a relaxing walk along the tree-lined avenues of the Lido in an elegant and silent atmosphere; a well-deserved rest before returning to that crowded, magical and surreal city that we so envy…
